Happy New Year

Here's what I chose to welcome the new year in with. I love all the '2013' nail art out there...but I just didn't have the patience!!

(Sorry about the slightly blurry thumb!)

I just used a light champagne colour for the base and then did a silver glitter tip (and accent nail). I also placed some individual bits of chunky gold glitter at the base of the nail to add some extra sparkle!

I hope you all have an amazing night...(I'm currently settling down with the Made in Chelsea cast...on E4 that is :) )

I also hope that this new year brings everything you hope and dream for. Remember to laugh a lot and love even more :D

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Merry Christmas everyone :)

We've just finished opening our presents (after a rather early start!!), Mum's in the kitchen preparing lunch, I'm spending time with my aunt and sister (and writing this obviously) and my younger siblings are playing with their new toys :)

Christmas really is my favourite time of the year! It's the one time when everyone gets together and spends time enjoying each others company. It's also the time of year when people really take time and start thinking about each other. It gives us all a chance to give without expecting anything back (which is the best way really :) ). And as I get older I realise more and more that it's the little things in life that bring the most joy!

So, go and spread little bursts of joy. Not just today but for the whole year :)

Well I think that's all for now :) I'm off to slave away over a hot stove...well to wrap cocktail sausages in bacon actually...

Enjoy the rest of your christmas wherever you are :) I'm sending lots of love your way <3

Christmas Aztec Design

I absolutely adore all the aztec nail designs that I've been seeing over the past few months. So for my first attempt, I thought 'why not combine it with my most favourite time of the year...CHRISTMAS!!'

So this is how it turned out...please bare in mind that I am most certainly not a pro at this...and if I can do it, you all can too!!

I also created a very simple little tutorial for these nails...I didn't photograph myself doing it step by step so I used a paint programme to illustrate what I did...again...this is my very first attempt, but why not eh!!

Firstly here's what I used :)

I'll put the specific polishes I used at the end of the post, but you don't have to use what I did, just use whatever you have :)

RIGHT...

Are you ready for this...

1. Start by prepping your nails with a base coat.
2. Then cut different sized strips of sticky tape and place on your nails. I alternated between horizontal           and vertical patterns.
3. Now paint gold, red and green on the separate sections to create a stripy patterns.
4. Let the polish dry and then carefully remove the strips of sticky tape.
5. Lastly using a white or black polish and a striper brush (a long thin brush) paint zig-zag patterns and dots between the colours. Lastly add a nice shiny top coat :)

Let me know if you enjoyed this :)

Sing it RiRi

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!
..
..
..
..
..
..
Firstly I have to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been asking me where I've disappeared to and if I'm alright. I'm fine :) It's been just over a year since I last uploaded anything to youtube and as you will have noticed this is a slightly different set up to the usual videos I was uploading. Please don't get me wrong, I loved my time on youtube but there were a number of things that started to hold me back.

Firstly I just couldn't keep up with the level of commitment that I wanted to have and that you guys deserved. I have aways thought that if I'm going to bother doing something then I might as well give everything I've got or not bother at all. I'm not hanging up my youtube hat quite yet but for now it will have to be an as and when kind of thing.

Secondly, I didn't feel like I was really making any useful contribution with my videos. I adore all the wonderful girls and boys that I follow and they really inspired me to put myself out there, but I never really took the time to decide what I was going to be about, or what I was going to represent and I found myself running out of steam pretty quickly. I watch youtube videos for so many different reasons…to learn something new, to feel good about the world…sometimes completely out of boredom (we've all been there), but I wasn't completely sure why I was making videos...

So now I find myself here…writing a blog post…WHAT?! I am completely new to this! I've never really followed anyone else's blogs or really thought about writing one myself, but I think that's the beauty of this little venture. I want this to be a place where I'm not attempting to live up to the standards of those that have gone before me (that sounds a bit epic…) but I can just do what I want. So I've decided that (for now) this will all be a little random, I'm not going to define what this is…'cos to be honest I HAVE NO CLUE…but I'm going to have fun doing it. It doesn't matter if 1 or 100 people read this, as long as we all have fun doing it!

I feel like this is a good place to end this short foray into my mind, but expect more. I have thoroughly enjoyed typing this and watching it come together…hopefully it will make it to the big bad web…but if it doesn't…well I've had fun doing it :)
